A fantasy for ages 9-12 by Trevor Judson
Joanne Trouton is thirteen, lives in a perfectly ordinary house, and welds scrap metal sculptures in her dad's old shed for fun. She is also, as it turns out, a ferromancer, one who's been accidentally trapping lost shadows inside her artworks for years. The only trouble is, their owner wants them back, and she's someone who doesn't mind unleashing a few lightning bolts to get her own way.
For readers of Diana Wynne Jones, Terry Pratchett, and anyone who suspects their missing socks aren't actually missing.
